“Think with a pen” ….. Marc will take you on a journey to explore hand graphics and the role the pen still has in the profession. Marc will teach you how to sketch an idea and develop your hand graphic skills to compliment today’s computer graphic tools.
After graduating from Michigan State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Landscape Architecture, Marc Hall joined EDSA in 1990. As Vice President at EDSA, Marc Hall has provided site analysis and evaluation pertaining to land use programming and planning for high end resorts, residential communities, commercial properties along with urban designs and attraction/entertainment properties.

Brian Lin is an Urban Planner and Urban Designer with 15 years of experience in Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design, and Landscape Architecture. He received his degree in Landscape Architecture at CalPoly San Luis Obispo, and has worked for Belt Collins in Hawaii, Sasaki Associates Inc. and EDAW Inc. in San Francisco. He is currently a Senior Urban Planner with NBBJ, Inc. in San Francisco. He was involved on a myriad of high-profile projects, including a new mega hotel/casino development in Macao, China and the Olympic Forest Park District and Grand Axis for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Brian is also an Adjunct Faculty in Practice at San Jose State University’s Interior Design Program.
Brian is a member of the American Institute of Architects, American Society of Landscape Architects and American Society of Architectural Illustrators.

“Digital Drawing for Landscape Architects”…… This session will investigate the difference between vibrant, successful digital representations and drawings that fall flat. The session will also look at a series of techniques you can use in Photoshop and Illustrator to create drawings in less time, be more organized in your workflow, and produce better looking drawings.
Wes Michaels is an Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University and the principal of Spackman, Mossop + Michaels. He is a co-author of the book Digital Drawing for Landscape Architects published by Wiley Press.

Lopez/Jaimes Design Studio was established as a project for the exploration of different creative disciplines and as a space for the debate of design ideas. Our work revolves around architecture and landscape architecture, but it also incorporates investigations in history, the city and the arts. Our design, as products, are a mixture of diverse research processes and technologies attempting to balance rigor and poetics to create not only compelling and thoughtful particular solutions at smaller scales but also responsible and sustainable projects on larger urban environments.
